{"id":143369,"date":"2025-08-13T21:22:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T21:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/143369\/"},"modified":"2025-08-13T21:22:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T21:22:09","slug":"why-robert-plant-decided-not-to-attend-back-to-the-beginning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/143369\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Robert Plant Decided Not to Attend Back to the Beginning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/robert-plant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Robert Plant<\/a> turned down an invitation to be part of <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/back-to-the-beginning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Back to the Beginning<\/a>, a farewell concert for <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/ozzy-osbourne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/black-sabbath\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Black Sabbath<\/a> held in Birmingham, England on July 5.<\/p>\n<p>Reason Robert Plant Declined Back to the Beginning Invite<\/p>\n<p>Plant recently\u00a0spoke\u00a0with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mojo4music.com\/articles\/stories\/robert-plant-to-do-it-for-the-sake-of-it-was-never-what-led-zeppelin-were-about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mojo<\/a>, where he revealed that Sabbath guitarist <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/tony-iommi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tony Iommi<\/a> invited him to attend Back to the Beginning at VIlla Park in Birmingham. The event was headlined by Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne&#8217;s final shows.<\/p>\n<p>Osbourne died weeks later at the age of 76.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/back-to-the-beginning-concert-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">When the Back to the Beginning Concert Film Will Be in Theaters<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Additional acts, including <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/metallica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Metallica<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/guns-n-roses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Guns N&#8217; Roses<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/slayer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Slayer<\/a>, played before Ozzy and Sabbath took the stage. Plant did not say whether he was asked to perform during Back to the Beginning, only that he was invited by Iommi to &#8220;attend.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I said, Tony, I&#8217;d love to come, but I can&#8217;t come,&#8221; Plant told Mojo. &#8220;I just can&#8217;t. I&#8217;m not saying that I&#8217;d rather hang out with Peter Gabriel or Youssou N&#8217;Dour, but I don&#8217;t know anything about what&#8217;s going on in the world now, at all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/loudwire.com\/tags\/led-zeppelin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Led Zeppelin<\/a> singer stressed that it was nothing personal and that he was all for the concept of Back to the Beginning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t decry it, I&#8217;ve got nothing against it,&#8221; Plant said in the interview. &#8220;It&#8217;s just I found these other places that are so rich.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Robert Plant Set For Tour, New Album<\/p>\n<p>Plant is currently doing press in anticipation of his new album, Saving Grace, which is set to be released on Sept. 26. He also released the first single from the album, a cover of Minnesota indie rock band Low&#8217;s &#8220;Everybody&#8217;s Song.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A tour will follow the album&#8217;s release.
