According to preliminary 2024\u201325 A\u2013F accountability data, the number of the district\u2019s F-rated schools dropped by more than half and the number of A-rated schools increased significantly<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\"><strong>FORT WORTH, Texas<\/strong> &#8211; One year after 31 campuses in Fort Worth ISD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/news\/tea-ratings-released-dallas-fort-worth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">received a failure rating<\/a>, new ratings bring that number down to 11.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/tag\/organization\/fort-worth-isd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fort Worth ISD<\/a> says 63 schools in total increased by one letter grade or maintained an &#8220;A&#8221; rating.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Fort Worth ISD A-F ratings  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/4H-FWISD-BUDGET-CUTS-_00.00.02.16.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/>  <\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">The district credits the significant change in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/tag\/education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">academic excellence<\/a> to the newly adopted strategic plan and a focus on literacy and math.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/tag\/us\/tx\/tarrant-county\/fort-worth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fort Worth<\/a> ISD\u2019s state A-F scores have recently put the district at risk of a state takeover.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">In 2023, the scores showed that one campus received a failure rating for the fifth consecutive year; a threshold that prompts state involvement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">According to state law, Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath is required to either close the campus or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/news\/fort-worth-isd-tea-takeover-letter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">take over the district<\/a>. However, Fort Worth ISD chose to close the school in 2023.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">The 2024 scores were delayed after several school districts sued the agency to delay their release. Last month, a court of appeals overturned a lower court&#8217;s ruling, allowing them to be released.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Earlier this month, Morath told the state senate during an education committee hearing that he is still deciding on a plan of action for the district.<\/p>\n<p> Education commissioner weighs in <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">What they&#8217;re saying:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">&#8220;I&#8217;ll be going back and doing some on-site visits as soon as school starts up. I want to get a good basis for the facts on the ground. We&#8217;re also analyzing other factors,&#8221; Morath said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">&#8220;I don&#8217;t know what the right decision is either. We&#8217;re going through a pretty intentional process to figure out what the best course of action is to support the students in Fort Worth. I would say this fall we&#8217;ll have a resolution on that one way or another,&#8221; Morath went on.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">The other side:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">&#8220;Over the past 10 months, Fort Worth ISD has taken bold, student-centered steps to improve academic outcomes, all aligned to our newly adopted strategic plan,&#8221; said Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Dr. Karen Molinar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">&#8220;We\u2019re not just talking about change, we\u2019re making it happen. Our district is focused on literacy and math, because we know they are the foundation of long-term success for every student,&#8221; added Molinar.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">What&#8217;s next:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Fort Worth ISD did not release ratings for every campus.
