One of Manchester United\u2019s current prospects is now playing alongside one of the club\u2019s former talents, while being coached by another.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Manchester United\u2019s lack of European football<\/a> in 2025\/26 means there are fewer minutes to go around, and a high number of loan deals have been agreed already.<\/p>\n

One of these is midfielder Jack Moorhouse<\/a>, who had a strong season last year with the under-21s and was called into first team training by Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After playing on the postseason tour, midfield talent Moorhouse secured a loan move<\/a> to League One side Leyton Orient.<\/p>\n

Moorhouse has crossed paths with former Manchester United left-back Demetri Mitchell, who signed for Orient this summer after a spell with Exeter City.<\/p>\n

Demetri Mitchell<\/a> made his Manchester United debut in 2017. After a promising loan move to Hearts, injuries ultimately led to his release in 2020.<\/p>\n

Now 28, the former England under-20 international is on hand to offer guidance to his new Leyton Orient teammate, Jack Moorhouse<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Asked about his early impressions of the 19-year-old midfielder, Mitchell says he believes Moorhouse has a chance to be a \u2018top player\u2019.<\/p>\n

He posted on X: \u201cHe\u2019s a good kid got a lot of time for him can see him being a top player carries the ball smooth, better than I was at that age took me till about 20 to really find my feet in men\u2019s football.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jack Moorhouse shows promise on first start<\/p>\n

Jack Moorhouse had made two substitute appearances<\/a> in his opening League One games, before being called into the starting line-up in midweek.<\/p>\n

Moorhouse is playing under Richie Wellens, a former Manchester United trainee who made one appearance for the first team in the League Cup in 1999.<\/p>\n

His son Charlie Wellens, formerly of Manchester United<\/a>, is also now currently at Orient and lined up at left-back in Leyton Orient\u2019s Carabao Cup first round game on Tuesday night (August 12).<\/p>\n

While Orient suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Wycombe Wanderers, Moorhouse made a positive impression.<\/p>\n

He was direct, testing the goalkeeper twice with two shots on target from two attempts, and also created two goalscoring chances.<\/p>\n

Moorhouse played the full 90 minutes in an attacking midfield role, and if he keeps on getting opportunities, it won\u2019t be long until he gets on the scoresheet.<\/p>\n
