SAN ANTONIO – Officials have identified the passenger killed in a fiery crash near Fort Sam Houston.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the Bexar Cunty Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Seth Nolan Palacios Cruz, who died at the scene from his injuries.<\/p>\n

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, near the corner of Harry Wurzbach Road and Old Austin Road, not far from Fort Sam Houston.<\/p>\n

According to police, the vehicle had been speeding away from officers during a pursuit that began in San Antonio and continued through Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills before the car crashed out.<\/p>\n

Officers had initially attempted to stop the car for an unknown reason. The driver ultimately struck a stone pillar, triggering a fire that engulfed the car.<\/p>\n

Fort Sam Houston police quickly responded to the scene of the crash and pulled the driver and passenger from the wreckage. <\/p>\n

The driver was allegedly found to be intoxicated, according to the police report.
