Nicole Byer, who stepped in as a guest host for \u201cJimmy Live Live!\u201d Tuesday night, shared the news that Taylor Swift\u2019s 12th studio is on the way \u2014 a major development that has everyone excited \u2026 including Fox News, who Byer said paused their anti-Jimmy Kimmel coverage just to discuss it.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, I must address the major news that rocked the nation last night and could forever change the course of human history,\u201d Byer told the audience. \u201cTaylor Swift is releasing her 12th studio album. So, congratulations white women, you\u2019re finally back on top!\u201d <\/p>\n

That\u2019s when she laid into the conservative news channel, which has consistently reported on and discussed the late night host<\/a> and his criticisms of the president. Watch the segment below:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was such a big news story, Fox News even took a break from bashing Jimmy Kimmel to talk about it,\u201d Byer stated, pulling up a clip of Fox News enthusiastically previewing the announcement meant to be made Wednesday on Travis Kelce\u2019s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast. Unfortunately, said Fox News broadcast hit a snag when instead of playing a preview of the podcast episode they pulled up news footage of an unidentified street fight from another news story on the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, that was not the clip,\u201d the anchor said before Byer jumped back in.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, but I\u2019m still going to pretend it was!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Byer\u2019s jokes about Fox News targeting Kimmel came amid heightened speculation that President Donald Trump has his thumb on the scale of network staffing decisions after Paramount and CBS canceled \u201cThe Late Show With Stephen Colbert\u201d last month. While the president has maintained he wasn\u2019t responsible for CBS canceling<\/a> the program, the Trump camp has continued to suggest certain programs that criticize him are at risk of a similar fate. <\/p>\n

Back in July, the Trump administration said \u201cThe View,\u201d<\/a> which has continuously criticized Trump, is \u201cnext to be pulled off the air.\u201d That same month, Trump stated that he \u201cabsolutely\u201d loves that Colbert was fired and said he heard Kimmel was next to go. He later doubled down on his predictions that Kimmel would be \u201cnext,\u201d and added Jimmy Fallon into the mix.<\/p>\n

\u201cFallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent,\u201d Trump said during a press conference on Aug. 6, according to Fox News<\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019re next. They\u2019re going to be going. I hear they\u2019re going to be going. I don\u2019t know, but I would imagine because they\u2019d get \u2014 you know, Colbert has better ratings than Kimmel or Fallon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift announced the news of her upcoming album \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d via her website on Monday. On Wednesday, she shared that the album will drop Oct. 3<\/a>. <\/p>\n
