A new era is dawning. On Tuesday, Taylor Swift revealed that she\u2019s coming out with her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. This will be her first album since wrapping up the Eras Tour<\/a> and buying back her masters<\/a>, and naturally, Swifties are frantically speculating about what she\u2019s cooking up next. Here\u2019s everything we know so far.<\/p>\n Like this! Swift dropped the art Wednesday night.<\/p>\n Visually, the album seems to be leaning into a sparkly mint green and orange aesthetic with some real classic Vegas showgirl vibes \u2013 think feathers, rhinestones, and fishnets. She is a theatre girl, after all.<\/p>\n October 3, baby!<\/p>\n We do! Swift released the tracklist along with the album art on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n There are 12 songs on the album, as anyone familiar with Swift\u2019s penchant for numerology is probably unsurprised by. Here are the titles:<\/p>\n Only Taylor could get her fans to listen to a football podcast. In an episode Wednesday night, Swift made her first-ever appearance on her boyfriend\u2019s podcast, New Heights, and used a teaser<\/a> for the episode to announce the big news. In a clip from the podcast, Swift pulled a copy of the record \u2014 cover blurred \u2014 out of a briefcase. \u201cThis is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl,\u201d Swift told Travis and Jason Kelce. \u201cT.S. 12!!!\u201d Travis yelled while Jason wordlessly screamed. Same.<\/p>\n\n Though the podcast episode didn\u2019t come out \u2019til Wednesday at 7 p.m., the teaser dropped \u2014 when else? \u2014 at 12:12 a.m. on August 12.<\/p>\n Fans had been anticipating some sort of announcement since Monday morning, when Taylor Nation, the singer\u2019s marketing team, posted an Instagram carousel<\/a> of pics of Swift wearing orange on the Eras Tour. \u201cThinking about when she said \u2018See you next era\u2026\u2019\u201d the post\u2019s caption read. Around the same time, the Kelce brothers announced<\/a> there would be a \u201cVERY special guest\u201d on their next podcast episode and included a silhouette of the mystery guest \u2014 which fans quickly matched to a photo of Swift<\/a>. On New Heights, Swift said the album focuses on her life during the Eras Tour, and she said we can expect \u201cmelodies that were so infectious you\u2019re almost angry at it, and lyrics that are just as vivid, but crisp and focused and completely intentional.\u201d<\/p>\n Travis said he\u2019s already heard the album, and said all the songs are \u201cbangers.\u201d Apparently it\u2019s all \u201cupbeat, fun pop excitement\u201d \u2013 a \u201ccomplete 180\u201d from The Tortured Poets Department, as he put it. \u201cYou are going to move. This album is going to make you dance,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Max Martin and Shellback are back! The Swedish producers haven\u2019t worked with Swift since 2017\u2019s Reputation, and the two produced some of her biggest, poppiest hits, including \u201cBlank Space\u201d and \u201cDelicate.\u201d<\/p>\n Notably, it\u2019s the first album not produced by her frequent collaborator, Jack Antonoff, in over a decade.<\/p>\n Fans had speculated Martin and Shellback were involved in the album since Swift released a Spotify playlist titled \u201cAnd, baby, that\u2019s show business for you.\u201d<\/a> The playlist includes 22 of her songs (get it?), all of which are from 1989, Red, and Reputation \u2014 and all of which were produced by Max Martin and Shellback.<\/p>\n During the Eras Tour, if you can believe it. Swift told the Kelce brothers she worked on the album while she was on tour in Europe, and would fly to Sweden between tour dates to work with Martin and Shellback. Based on her tour dates, that would mean she made it sometime last spring or summer.<\/p>\n \u201cI was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating,\u201d Swift said of the process.<\/p>\n Apparently not. On New Heights, Swift said not to expect any additional songs.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is 12,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s not a 13th. There\u2019s not other ones coming.\u201d<\/p>\n But of course. Towards the end of the Eras Tour, an orange door<\/a> would appear on stage during the final song, \u201cKarma.\u201d Turns out, none of it was accidental. \u201cThat actually was an Easter egg!\u201d she said on New Heights.
