ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 St. Johns County officials have unveiled a new online tool designed to keep residents informed about ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects across the community. <\/p>\n

Joy Andrews, the county administrator, said the website highlights feature projects by category, including road improvements, parks, public safety, and beach access upgrades. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese are the amazing projects that we are currently still really in the process of completing,\u201d Andrews said. <\/p>\n

The site also includes over $300 million in utility and coastal projects. Previously, residents had no single place to view all these projects collectively. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the first time we actually have done a collective ongoing future projects website,\u201d Andrews said. <\/p>\n

The interactive dashboard allows users to explore project funding sources, phases, timelines, and completion dates. Users can also view maps showing project locations.<\/p>\n

Greg Caldwell, the public works director, demonstrated the site\u2019s detailed information on key projects such as County Road 2209, a major transportation improvement nearing completion. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a game changer for the area,\u201d Caldwell said, noting the new road will ease traffic congestion near State Road 16 and International Golf Parkway.<\/p>\n

One of the key projects featured on the website is the Pine Island intersection upgrade, which includes a new traffic signal to improve safety and traffic flow. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a new area that accesses not only a school that\u2019s located down on Pine Island, Pine Island Road, but also the back half of Nocatee. So this has seen an increase in traffic over the past couple years.\u201d <\/p>\n

The intersection has also been the site of past traffic fatalities, underscoring the need for improved safety measures. The project includes roadway and median improvements and is expected to be fully operational within weeks, just in time for the school year. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are finalizing some work with the railroad right now and then, once that\u2019s complete, we\u2019re able to turn the signal on,\u201d Caldwell said.<\/p>\n

The website also features updates on the Hastings Community Center, which incorporates historic design elements and serves as a new hub for local residents. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe community has a lot of attachment to the aesthetic of the building,\u201d Andrews said.<\/p>\n

Residents interested in specific projects can contact project managers directly through the site\u2019s dashboard for questions or more information. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you have a specific question about one of these projects, we\u2019re here to answer you,\u201d Caldwell said.<\/p>\n

The county\u2019s public affairs team, recently honored with the Pinnacle Award, is working closely with infrastructure staff to create the site as part of a broader effort to enhance transparency and community engagement.<\/p>\n
