{"id":14595,"date":"2025-06-25T22:01:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T22:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/14595\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T22:01:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T22:01:10","slug":"odion-ighalo-shares-victor-osimhen-verdict-amid-manchester-united-transfer-interest-he-knows-what-he-wants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/14595\/","title":{"rendered":"Odion Ighalo shares Victor Osimhen verdict amid Manchester United transfer interest, &#8216;he knows what he wants&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Manchester United are looking for a new striker, and many fans would love to see Victor Osimhen arrive at Old Trafford.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rasmus Hojlund left <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester United<\/a> fans encouraged by his first season at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/rasmus-hojlund-unveiled-at-old-trafford-as-manchester-united-transfer-confirmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United signed Hojlund from Atalanta<\/a> in 2023, and the Dane racked up 16 goals in his first campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, the 22-year-old suffered a crisis of confidence last season and ended the season with just 10 goals, only four coming in the Premier League.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/30m-man-united-star-excited-to-join-new-club-manager-made-personal-request-to-sign-him\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hojlund is now wanted by Napoli<\/a>, and United could cash in on the striker this summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/ruben-amorim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ruben Amorim<\/a> will surely fancy adding another striker this summer, with the search on for the right man.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"708\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-1982683229-1024x708.jpg\" alt=\"Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen in action against Angola.\" class=\"wp-image-262115\" \/>Photo by Ulrik Pedersen\/DeFodi Images via Getty Images<strong>Odion Ighalo on Manchester United-linked Victor Osimhen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Viktor Gyokeres is one name which just won\u2019t go away, and the same goes for Napoli striker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/victor-osimhen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victor Osimhen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/Arokodare\" rel=\"nofollow\">United hold genuine interest in signing Osimhen<\/a>, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.<\/p>\n<p>Napoli are keen to sell Osimhen and the Nigerian is interested in a move to the Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old is a proven goalscorer, smashing 113 goals in his last five seasons across spells in Italy and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/rio-ferdinand-is-convinced-man-utd-target-is-waiting-for-old-trafford-move-he-can-only-see-one-roadblock-for-transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rio Ferdinand wants Osimhen to join United<\/a>, and former Red Devils forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/odion-ighalo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Odion Ighalo<\/a> has now offered his view on the striker\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to News Central TV, Ighalo suggested that \u2018it\u2019s impossible\u2019 to name the best strikers in the world without bringing up Osimhen\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>Ighalo believes Osimhen\u2019s situation is \u2018not easy\u2019 because of all the conversation around his future, but believes the striker is \u2018mentally strong\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Osimhen and Ighalo even spent time together a few days ago, with Ighalo left convinced that Osimhen \u2018knows what he wants\u2019 from his next move.<\/p>\n<p>Ighalo is willing to offer advice to Osimhen if he wants it, with United fans surely hoping he ushers him towards Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, in the world today, you can\u2019t mention two strikers without his name. It\u2019s impossible. He\u2019s doing so well,\u201d said Ighalo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe underrate our own; that\u2019s the problem in Africa. We underrate our own African players and potentials, but if you want to search the world now for a proper goalscorer, tell me two or three, a true number nine, a centre forward and goalscorer. Search the world now for two or three, you\u2019ll mention his name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not easy because agents are calling every day, people are talking, the media and all of that, but I think Victor is mentally strong, because he has gone through challenges in his life, even at his age, and he has overcome them. He knows what he wants. We were together two days ago, but we didn\u2019t talk about football; we just had fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe he knows what he wants; he\u2019s a grown-up guy now, he\u2019s worked hard to be where he is today, so he knows what he wants.
