{"id":146170,"date":"2025-08-14T22:17:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T22:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/146170\/"},"modified":"2025-08-14T22:17:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T22:17:08","slug":"rashee-rices-nfl-disciplinary-hearing-set-for-sept-30-nfl-says-nbc-5-dallas-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/146170\/","title":{"rendered":"Rashee Rice\u2019s NFL disciplinary hearing set for Sept. 30, NFL says \u2013 NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After pleading guilty in July to two felony charges related to a high-speed hit-and-run crash that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/new-dallas-police-report-rashee-rice-crash\/3517813\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">injured at least four people<\/a>\u00a0on a Dallas highway last year, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/?s=rashee+rice\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rashee Rice<\/a> will have a disciplinary hearing with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/chiefs-wr-rashee-rice-disciplinary-hearing-set-for-sept-30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">NFL on Sept. 30<\/a> in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Because the hearing isn&#8217;t scheduled until the end of September, Rice will be available to play in the Chiefs first four games of the season, including a Super Bowl rematch with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 14. Rice will also be available for the opener against the Chargers on Sept. 5 and games three and four against the Giants and Ravens.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/rashee-rices-hearing-will-happen-before-judge-sue-l-robinson?chrcontext=KXAS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">NBC Sports&#8217; Mike Florio said<\/a> Judge Sue L. Robinson will hear Rice\u2019s case. Rice is a former U.S. district judge who serves as the disciplinary officer jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association and is the same judge who presided over DeShaun Watson&#8217;s case in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Florio said after Robinson issues her punishment, either the NFL or Rice may appeal the decision to the commissioner or his designee.<\/p>\n<p>Rice still has to serve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/rashee-rice-plea-guilty-dallas-crash-kansas-city-chiefs\/3887768\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a\u00a030-day jail\u00a0sentence<\/a> after reaching a plea deal with the Dallas County District Attorney in July.
