The 18-year veteran was hospitalized after allegedly being involved in a crash earlier this month. He is the fourth officer arrested this year.<\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO \u2014 The San Antonio Police department says one of their officers has been arrested for driving while intoxicated.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, SAPD was made aware that officer David McCall had turned himself in to the Bexar County Booking and Release Satellite Office after a warrant for Driving While Intoxicated was issued for his arrest.<\/p>\n

SAPD says the warrant stems from an Aug. 5 crash that BCSO responded to in the 3400 block of Coryell Cove where McCall had to be hospitalized after deputies allegedly found him in the front driver-side seat.<\/p>\n

The arrest warrant states while McCall was being transported to a local hospital, the odor of alcohol emanated from him. This gave authorities enough reason to issue a search warrant for his blood.<\/p>\n

On Aug. 12, toxicology results from Quality Forensic Toxicology came back allegedly showing that McCall had a BAC level of 0.238 g\/dL the night of the crash.<\/p>\n

Back in July, an on-duty officer was arrested<\/a> after an open beer container and a cooler of beer was found in his patrol unit.<\/p>\n

This marks the fourth SAPD officer arrested in 2025; with three of those being for driving while intoxicated.<\/p>\n

SAPD says they are conducting an administrative investigation into this incident.<\/p>\n

McCall has been placed on administrative duty after 18 years of service with the department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The 18-year veteran was hospitalized after allegedly being involved in a crash earlier this month.
