Watson allegedly knew the gunman and attempted to wrestle the gun out of the shooter\u2019s hand before the shooting.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was talking to a guy, and he was going to his car, then the guy followed behind him,\u201d Alvin Jackson told the outlet. \u201cSo, the guy followed behind him and pulled the gun on him. He was trying to wrestle with the gun, and the gun went off.\u201d<\/p>\n
Watson\u2019s livestream continued to run after the shooting, capturing the inside of his empty car. ABC 7 Chicago<\/p>\n
Watson\u2019s cousin, Jacquez Smith, recalled watching her critically wounded relative suffering as he lay in the parking lot.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was choking for breath,\u201d Smith told ABC7. \u201cHe was trying to struggle to breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Watson, a father to a six-year-old son, died weeks before his birthday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have let him walk out the store,\u201d Smith added. \u201cHe was a good man. No matter what he done, he helped people, you know? He helped me get this job in here.\u201d<\/p>\n
