A suspected burglar fled the scene after kicking in the door of a Northridge home Thursday night, prompting a police investigation into an attempted hot prowl burglary, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Officers responded around 9 p.m. to a report of a break-in in the 17000 block of Murphy Lane, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they determined the scene was clear and that the suspect was already gone. No property was taken.<\/p>\n
According to LAPD, the suspect forced entry by kicking in the front door. The homeowner, who was inside, screamed, scaring the suspect away. <\/p>\n
No injuries were reported. <\/p>\n
