(13 News) &#8211; The <a href=\"https:\/\/housing.az.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/housing.az.gov\/\"><b>Arizona Department of Housing<\/b><\/a> is trying to get more people interested in its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kold.com\/2025\/08\/06\/arizona-home-ownership-program-expands-pima-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kold.com\/2025\/08\/06\/arizona-home-ownership-program-expands-pima-county\/\"><b>Arizona is Home<\/b><\/a>\u201d program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It makes ownership more feasible for those wanting to buy their first home or get back into the market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Thanks to the program, Amanda Hatch is about to hit one year as a homeowner, and she wants others to know that the program is still open, so other people can get the same help.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Amanda Hatch recently became a homeowner thanks to the Arizona is Home program.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/YWJ4PIIWPNHKRJGOUWCXP2Y6QM.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"592\" \/>Amanda Hatch recently became a homeowner thanks to the Arizona is Home program.(13 News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After floating from one apartment to the next for a decade, Hatch never thought she\u2019d be able to buy a home. That is, until she came across the \u201cArizona is Home\u201d program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The initiative launched in 2024 with $13 million in funding, and a recent expansion has led to another $5 million in federal funding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI\u2019m here for a while. Like this is my house. I\u2019m staying here,\u201d Hatch said. \u201cIt gives me just a great feeling of security.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hatch is one of more than 500 homebuyers across the state \u2013 and this latest expansion will bring that number to over 1,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She said she registered <a href=\"https:\/\/housing.az.gov\/general-public\/arizona-home-program\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/housing.az.gov\/general-public\/arizona-home-program\"><b>online<\/b><\/a> for the program in June 2024. Once she found out she was eligible, she was given a variety of resources, including a class to help her learn about her pre-approved loan and the entire process in a matter of weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cSo, for them to be like, here, like, we see you\u2019re struggling, we see you want to move on, we see you want to progress and grow,\u201d Hatch said. \u201cSo, let\u2019s, here\u2019s $20,000 for a home. We can absolutely help you out.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\" \" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DGR3SDSBCVECHIUVKBAMVOY6RA.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"575\" \/> (13 News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This program offers down payment assistance and mortgage interest rate buy-downs to qualified low- to middle-income homebuyers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">These are the eligibility requirements:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>You must be an Arizona resident for at least six months<\/li>\n<li>You cannot have owned a home in the past three years<\/li>\n<li>And you must be at or below 120% of your area median income. For Tucson-Pima County, that would be $115,320 for families of four, and $80,760 for an individual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cEverything is, you know, more driven towards families, which is great, absolutely, but as a single person, I was like, oh my gosh, like I have an opportunity now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tucson and Pima County will get around $1 million of the $5 million available \u2013 meaning between 75 and 100 people can get up to $9,000 to start their homebuying journey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As long as you qualify, the money is given on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Arizona Department of Housing Director Ruby Dhillon-Williams.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/TEYIUO5ZFNHPVO7O2EBAD7YUBA.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"625\" \/>Arizona Department of Housing Director Ruby Dhillon-Williams.(Cleared for use)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">That is why Arizona Department of Housing Director Ruby Dhillon-Williams urges everyone to see if you qualify.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI think we talk a lot about data and funding, but to see these real stories and these lives changing, that\u2019s really what gives the heart behind this program,\u201d Dhillon-Williams said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">You can submit your <a href=\"https:\/\/ugc.zeam.com\/app\/gallery?albumId=4152&amp;theme=default\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/ugc.zeam.com\/app\/gallery?albumId=4152&amp;theme=default\" target=\"_blank\"><b>breaking news or weather images here<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 13 News.
