{"id":147365,"date":"2025-08-15T08:42:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T08:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/147365\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T08:42:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T08:42:08","slug":"man-killed-while-fleeing-ice-raid-by-running-onto-la-county-freeway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/147365\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Killed While Fleeing ICE Raid By Running Onto LA County Freeway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MONROVIA, CA \u2014 A man believed to have been fleeing an immigration enforcement operation at a Home Depot was struck and killed on the 210 Freeway after he ran onto the interstate.<\/p>\n<p>A Monrovia police officer at around 9:45 a.m. observed Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents approaching the Home Depot on Mountain Avenue, just off the 210, where they conduced enforcement activities, according to a statement from City Manager Dylan Feik.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During the ICE activity, one person fled on foot, crossing Evergreen Avenue and entered onto the eastbound 210 Freeway,&#8221; Feik wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Monrovia Fire &amp; Rescue at 9:52 a.m. responded to a call regarding a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died, according to the city manager.<\/p>\n<p>Feik&#8217;s statement Thursday afternoon revealed more information about the collision that prompted the closure of three eastbound lanes in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/california\/los-angeles\/pedestrian-struck-210-freeway-lanes-shut-down\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the earlier Sigalert<\/a>, motorists had reported someone was on the freeway yelling at passing cars prior to being struck.
