<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/boris-becker-sends-message-to-jannik-sinner-after-he-wrote-history-in-the-us-open-vs-taylor-fritz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jannik Sinner beating Taylor Fritz<\/a> to win the men\u2019s singles title for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>While in the women\u2019s tournament, it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/aryna-sabalenka-equals-serena-williams-record-after-beating-jessica-pegula-in-the-us-open-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aryna Sabalenka who won the US Open<\/a> after beating another American in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jessica-pegula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jessica Pegula<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/aryna-sabalenka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalenka<\/a> come into 2025 looking to defend their titles, while a former junior Grand Slam finalist is bidding to win her first match at the US Open on her junior Grand Slam finalist who has never won a US Open match<\/p>\n<p>That player is world number 77 Anna Blinkova, the former junior Grand Slam finalist who is winless in her seven main draw appearances at the US Open.<\/p>\n<p>Blinkova reached the final of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a> girls\u2019 tournament in 2015, and has found some success on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTA Tour<\/a> after winning one title and reaching a career-high singles ranking of world number 34.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" a history maker, having won the longest tie-break ever against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/elena-rybakina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elena Rybakina<\/a> at the 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/australian-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, Blinkova\u2019s record at the US Open is significantly less impressive, as she has lost seven of her previous matches at the New York major.<\/p>\n<p>Five of these seven defeats have come in straight sets, with Blinkova suffering her heaviest defeat yet in 2024 at the hands of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/emma-navarro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emma (13), 6-1 6-1<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<p>Blinkova will be looking to end her losing streak at the US Open this year, but her recent form does not provide much encouragement about that happening.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old has won only one of her last six matches and as an unseeded player, she could be drawn to play anyone in the first round, including Sabalenka, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/coco-gauff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coco Gauff<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/iga-swiatek\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iga Swiatek<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>WTA players who are looking to win their first US Open match this year<\/p>\n<p>No-one who is playing at the US Open this year has lost more matches than Blinkova without winning a match, but she is certainly not alone.<\/p>\n<p>The other player who has lost all seven of her matches at the US Open is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/features\/she-was-the-first-player-who-ever-beat-iga-swiatek-at-wimbledon-and-was-also-the-winner-of-two-wta-titles-in-her-career\/\" target=\"_blank\" who are seeking their first win at the US Open this year include Americans Hailey Baptiste, Alycia Parks and world number 32 McCartney Kessler, who will be seeded this year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/serena-williams-former-coach-claims-theres-an-american-star-who-will-reach-the-top-ten-by-the-end-of-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" Open champion Victoria Mboko<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/steve-johnson-states-if-he-believes-victoria-mboko-is-already-a-grand-slam-contender-after-her-canadian-open-title-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mboko looks to be a real threat at the US Open<\/a> this year, as the 18-year-old looks to continue her breakout year.<\/p>\n<p>All of these players will get the chance to win their
