{"id":14742,"date":"2025-06-25T23:18:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T23:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/14742\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T23:18:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T23:18:09","slug":"tottenham-enquire-about-club-world-cup-winger-after-chelsea-interest-cools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/14742\/","title":{"rendered":"Tottenham enquire about Club World Cup winger after Chelsea interest cools"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in a young South American wide-forward, who is currently participating in the Club World Cup, but the youngster will not come cheap.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/club-info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> have been keeping a close eye on the young talent in Argentina over recent years as demonstrated by their acquisition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/alejo-veliz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alejo Veliz<\/a> two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The Veliz deal may not have worked out as well as the Lilywhites would have wanted, but that has seemingly not deterred them from continuing to track the best youngsters in the Primera Division.<\/p>\n<p>It has now emerged that Tottenham have set their sights on a River Plate teenager, who is yet to even establish himself as a regular for the Argentine giants.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2206995646-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Ian Subiabre of River Plate celebrates after scoring the team's second goal during a Torneo Apertura Betano 2025 match between River Plate and Rosa...\" \/>Photo by Rodrigo Valle\/Getty ImagesTottenham enquire about Ian Subiabre after Chelsea pull away<\/p>\n<p>This report comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivernoticias.com\/riverhoy\/Gallardo-esta-atento-el-jugador-de-River-que-sigue-el-Tottenham-20250621-0010.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">River Noticias<\/a> who claim that Tottenham have taken an interest in River Plate youngster Ian Subiabre.<\/p>\n<p>The young forward, who prefers to play on the right, but can operate across the front three, has been a shining star in River\u2019s youth system and was also part of Argentina\u2019s squad at the U20 South American Championship earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Subiabre has primarily been used as a substitute at his club this season, but that has not deterred <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/premier-league\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> clubs from expressing their interest in the teenager.<\/p>\n<p>The report says that Chelsea were the first English club to show interest in the winger and they held a meeting with his agent Claudio Caniggia, but the Blues were put off by the player\u2019s \u20ac26.m (\u00a322m) release clause and cooled their interest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/tottenham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spurs<\/a> have now made formal enquiries about Subiabre\u2019s contract situation and his availability in the \u2018last few hours\u2019 and it is suggested that the Lilywhites could present a \u2018different offer with different payment terms\u2019 than their London rivals.<\/p>\n<p>River Plate\u2019s stance on Subiabre revealed<\/p>\n<p>River Noticias point out that Tottenham could even be prepared to offer River a sell-on clause on Subiabre to tempt them to accept a deal.<\/p>\n<p>The Argentine club have not received any formal offers for the winger from Spurs and at the moment, they plan on retaining the youngster if his clause is not met.<\/p>\n<p>While River are not completely ruling out the possibility of Subiabre being sold this summer, any sale is only likely after the Club World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Related Posts<\/p>\n<p>      Have something to tell us about this article?
