Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer has completed his season-long loan move to West Bromwich Albion.<\/p>\n
A host of Championship clubs had registered an interest in Collyer but West Brom completed the deal with the midfielder hoping to be involved in the weekend game against Wrexham.<\/p>\n
West Brom believe the 21-year-old can aid their push for promotion to the Premier League under head coach Ryan Mason.<\/p>\n
Speaking on United\u2019s tour of the United States this summer, Collyer said his priority was to play \u201cas many minutes as possible\u201d, be it in Manchester or elsewhere.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think first and foremost I want to be here and play as many games for Man United as possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll sit down with the manager and higher-ups and see what\u2019s the best solution for that. The best way for me to develop, whether it\u2019s stay here or go on loan. The end goal for me is to play as many minutes as possible here, hopefully starting every week. So yeah, I\u2019ll sit down with them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Collyer joined United\u2019s youth academy in 2022 from Brighton & Hove Albion and made his first-team debut under Erik ten Hag in the Community Shield match against Manchester City in August 2024.<\/p>\n
The central midfielder made 19 first-team appearances for United in the 2024-25 campaign. His most memorable moment came in January\u2019s Premier League victory at Fulham, when he cleared the ball off the line to ensure a 1-0 win.<\/p>\n
The emergence of Kobbie Mainoo and signing of Manuel Ugarte in 2024 limited Collyer\u2019s first-team opportunities, with Casemiro also featuring prominently throughout 2024-25.\u00a0Christian Eriksen, meanwhile, departed United this summer following the expiration of his contract.<\/p>\n
Collyer, who captained England at under-16 and under-17 levels, has featured for England\u2019s under-20 side across the past year.<\/p>\n
