{"id":148067,"date":"2025-08-15T14:56:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T14:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/148067\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T14:56:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T14:56:14","slug":"new-theory-behind-mysterious-object-in-night-sky-over-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/148067\/","title":{"rendered":"New theory behind mysterious object in night sky over Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/42EA60425AB06F4B628B47E63DECE688.jpg\" alt=\"New theory behind mysterious object in sky over Philadelphia\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-fa1f2118=\"\"\/>    <\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\"><strong>PHILADELPHIA<\/strong> &#8211; The mystery continues about a bright, swirling object spotted in the night sky over Philadelphia earlier this week!<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">While experts believe it was likely a rocket launch \u2013 not visitors from another galaxy \u2013 there is some debate about just whose rocket it was.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">What we know:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">A bright orb surrounded by a faint, glowing mist was spotted over the Philadelphia area on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">FOX 29 News viewers from Glenside to the Jersey shore submitted videos and photos of the mysterious orb throughout the night.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Experts threw cold water on conspiracy theories about the origins of the object, saying that it was likely from a rocket launch in Cape Canaveral, Florida.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">NASA scientist Dr. Donald Miller joined Good Day Philadelphia and called the swirling mist that surrounded the object a &#8220;classic rocket plume.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">&#8220;When rockets go up, they have to do attitude adjustments, so you&#8217;re seeing that spiral as they&#8217;re actually adjusting their orbit around our planet,&#8221; Dr. Miller said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Experts at the popular astronomy website Earth Sky now assert that the object was likely connected to Europe&#8217;s &#8220;Ariane Six&#8221; rocket launched from South America.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">What they&#8217;re saying:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Whether the rocket was from the U.S. or Europe, some mystery still surrounds the spacecraft&#8217;s mission.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Dr. Miller explained that the rocket was seen going into &#8220;geostationary orbit&#8221; as it prepared to launch two military satellites.
