Jannik Sinner is chasing his 18th hard-court title and fifth at ATP Masters 1000 level in Cincinnati.

Jannik Sinner<\/a> has been the man to beat on hard courts in the past 18 months. The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings has won the past three majors on the surface and also lifted the trophy at the Nitto ATP Finals<\/a> in November.\n<\/p>\n This week, the Italian has cruised through the draw at the Cincinnati Open<\/a>, where he is the defending champion. With his victory against Felix Auger-Aliassime<\/a> on Thursday, the 23-year-old improved his winning streak on hard courts to 25 matches, according to the Infosys ATP Win\/Loss Index.<\/p>\n Only Roger Federer<\/a>, Novak Djokovic<\/a>, Andy Murray<\/a> and Rafael Nadal<\/a> have won more consecutive matches on the surface this century.<\/p>\n If Sinner captures his 18th hard-court title and fifth at ATP Masters 1000 level in Ohio, he will surpass Nadal’s best run on the surface. The World No. 1 has dropped just three sets across his 25 wins.<\/p>\n Longest men’s hard-court win streaks of 21st century<\/strong><\/p>\n *Active streak<\/p>\n Sinner is in a thrilling battle for ATP Year-End No. 1 honours presented by PIF with Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>. Alcaraz currently holds a 1,340-point lead over Sinner in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin and could meet the Italian in the Cincinnati final on Monday. Sinner trails the Spaniard 5-8 in the pair\u2019s Lexus ATP Head2Head series but won the most recent meeting in the Wimbledon<\/a> final last month.<\/p>\n Alcaraz was the last man to defeat Sinner on hard courts, with that triumph coming in the title match at the ATP 500 event in Beijing in October.<\/p>\n Sinner\u2019s path to 25 hard-court wins:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.
