If I don’t sell 20-or-so-thousand tickets to my tour in the next 48 hours, it’s going to be canceled,” he said in a TikTok video.

In an August update, the singer said he was grateful for the response to his video, but it wasn’t enough.

“Over the last few days, we sold a few thousand extra tickets, and I am beyond grateful to every one of you who bought one,” he said. “Those 2,000 tickets are a reminder that being transparent and failure sometimes can be more powerful than the facade of success. They’re a reminder of how wonderful it can be to ask for help and watch a community come together. And this really was the nicest the internet has ever been to me. But what those 2,000 tickets are not is enough to save this tour. I’m really sorry.”

 @jpsaxe

im really sorry. im so grateful for the way you’ve shown up for me these last few days. thankyou for giving a shit about my music, I’ve certainly still got lots in me to share with you.

♬ original sound – jpsaxe

Saxe, a Canadian singer, earned a Grammy nomination for his collaboration with Julia Michaels on the hit song “If the World Was Ending” and has worked with famed artists like Sam Smith, H.E.R., Alessia Cara, Sabrina Carpenter, Niall Horan, Keith Urban, John Mayer and Finneas O’Connell.

Part of his tour included a Sept. 27 stop at Chicago’s The Vic Theatre.
