Margaret Qualley is ready to take on her next role\u2026 as Cupid!<\/p>\n
During her guest appearance on the \u201cTonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon\u201d<\/a> on Thursday, the actress revealed that she tried to set up her mom, Andie MacDowell, with Bill Murray, whom she met backstage before going live.<\/p>\n \u201cBill Murray, literally tonight, he pops into my backstage dressing room,\u201d Qualley, 30, told host Jimmy Fallon. \u201cHe\u2019s wearing a Piggly Wiggly shirt. And I grew up in North Carolina, and Piggly Wiggly\u2019s a Southern thing.\u201d<\/p>\n Margaret Qualley tried to set up her mom, Andie MacDowell with Bill Murray. My mom\u2019s living in Charleston,\u201d the \u201cSubstance\u201d star continued.<\/p>\n After telling Murray, 74, that he and her mom, 67, live in the same city, he hit her with some bad news. Apparently, the Hollywood stars didn\u2019t get along while filming their 1993 movie, \u201cGroundhog Day.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m gonna give you the tea. He was like, \u2018You know, your mom and I \u2014 we didn\u2019t get along so good while we were making that movie,’\u201d the \u201cMaid\u201d star recalled of her conversation with Murray.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was like, \u2018She took a lot of time to get her hair done, and she didn\u2019t know her lines this one time.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Yeah, well, I heard a different story, sir.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n After talking to him a bit, the \u201cSubstance\u201d star realized that Murray and her mom both live in Charleston. He\u2019s living in Charleston. She\u2019s living in Charleston. They\u2019ve got this kind of rage towards each other, but maybe he\u2019s trying to make amends,\u201d Qualley explained.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018She\u2019s single, he\u2019s single. They\u2019re both crazy. Let\u2019s get it together!’\u201d<\/p>\n The actress told Fallon that she hoped to see Murray again after the show wrapped so that she could continue playing matchmaker.<\/p>\n \u201cI said to come circle back and get my number if he wants to connect with my mom. She told Murray to \u201ccircle back\u201d and get her number after the show if he wanted to \u201cconnect\u201d with her mom. Hi, Bill!\u201d<\/p>\n No word yet on whether Qualley set up an official date for MacDowell and Murray, but Page Six has reached out to their reps for comment.<\/p>\n Back in January, MacDowell revealed that she moved from Los Angeles to Charleston to fill the \u201chuge void\u201d in her life<\/a> now that she\u2019s an empty nester.<\/p>\n
