{"id":149214,"date":"2025-08-16T00:55:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-16T00:55:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/149214\/"},"modified":"2025-08-16T00:55:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T00:55:10","slug":"lake-worth-schools-face-challenges-tea-says-nbc-5-dallas-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/149214\/","title":{"rendered":"Lake Worth schools face challenges, TEA says \u2013 NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/tea-releases-2024-25-school-ratings-best-worst-districts-and-charters\/3905164\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025 A-F Accountability Ratings for public school systems and campuses<\/a> across the state on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Lake Worth ISD\u2019s accountability ratings have consistently remained low throughout the last four school years. During the 2023-24 school year, TEA gave the district a 59 score of F.<\/p>\n<p>The latest overall rating increased by 3 points, bumping the district to a D. However, of their six campuses, five are failing.<\/p>\n<p>The early education and elementary campuses are all struggling to perform.<\/p>\n<p>Effie Morris Early Learning Academy, Effie Morris STEAM Academy, and Marilyn J Miller Language Academy all scored a 59 rating or F.<\/p>\n<p>However, Marine Creek Leadership Academy scored the lowest rating at 56.<\/p>\n<p>The leadership academy has nearly 350 students enrolled and about 26 teachers. Its student achievement rating is based on factors including STAAR testing and preparation for success after high school and unfortunately, plummeted 7 points from the 2023-24 school year. <\/p>\n<p>The 46-point rating considers that only about 13% of its student population is considered to meet the grade level \u201cor above\u201d for all subjects. According to the recent data, only 3% of its students \u201cmaster\u201d their grade level for all subjects.<\/p>\n<p>The district\u2019s middle school scored another solid F at 59 points. According to TEA, about 21% of Lucyle Collins middle schoolers meet grade level or above for all subjects. Still, the majority struggle with science and reading.<\/p>\n<p>The only Lake Worth ISD campus that passed was Lake Worth High School. They received a D-rating; however, they are down two points in comparison to the 2023-2024 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Parents who spoke to NBC 5 on Friday said they were unaware of the ratings.<\/p>\n<p>On late Friday afternoon, Lake Worth ISD addressed the D-rating in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are disappointed, but we are not discouraged.
