In a recent interview with ESPN<\/a>, Barcelona\u2019s veteran forward Robert Lewandowski spoke at length about Lamine Yamal, touching on his much-talked-about birthday celebrations.<\/p>\n

Lewandowski also talked about his personality and the comparisons being made between Yamal and Real Madrid\u2019s new signing, Franco Mastantuono.<\/p>\n

The Pole\u2019s statements come on the back of recent reports which suggest the veteran forward has built a solid relationship<\/a> with Yamal in pre-season this summer.<\/p>\n

Lewandowski\u2019s advice to Lamine <\/p>\n

Robert Lewandowski began by joking about Lamine Yamal\u2019s now-famous birthday celebration, which made headlines across Spain.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaha, Lamine is very young, he can enjoy life,<\/strong>\u201d Lewandowski said with a smile. \u201cHe has to enjoy it now, because maybe in the future he won\u2019t be able to.<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, there will be tough moments for him about how to deal with everything around him, but at this age, you still can. It\u2019s about finding the balance, and he\u2019s a really good person,\u201d<\/strong> he added. <\/p>\n

From there, Lewandowski went on to talk about Yamal\u2019s footballing personality and his individualism.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe people expect us to be perfect, but what does that even mean? Lamine shows his personality, and that\u2019s good.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe key is how he manages it over time because talent alone is enough at 20, but later, hard work becomes the most important thing,\u201d<\/strong> he said. <\/p>\n

Lamine Yamal and the Mastantuono comparisons<\/p>\n

Asked if Yamal\u2019s emergence has made Real Madrid look for a similar player, the Pole didn\u2019t hold back.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey definitely feel pressure to find someone like Lamine, but I think that would be impossible, and it\u2019s better for them to follow their own path. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, fans always expect us to find a new \u2018Lamine,\u2019 but such a player isn\u2019t born every year \u2013 maybe once every ten years,\u201d<\/strong> he said. <\/p>\n

Lewandowski went on to talk about Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and how that comparison is applicable to Yamal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe same applies to Cristiano and Messi. You can\u2019t find another \u2018Messi\u2019 or another \u2018Cristiano,\u2019 because they are unique,\u201d<\/strong> he added. <\/p>\n

Finally, Lewandowski talked about Real Madrid\u2019s latest signing, Franco Mastantuono, who will wear the number 30 jersey<\/a> for Los Blancos next season.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t compare players, especially at such a young age. Football puts enormous pressure on them, and many aren\u2019t mentally ready for it. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe question is, when they\u2019re 24 or 28, will they still be at a high level?
