PHOENIX \u2014 A man died after a hit-and-run on Thursday night in Phoenix, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to reports of a vehicular collision in the area of 24th Street and McDowell Road shortly before midnight, according to the Phoenix Police Department<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Officers found a man with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

He was brought to a hospital, where he died, police said.<\/p>\n

Although the incident was a hit-and-run, the driver returned to the scene around an hour later and was detained by officers.<\/p>\n

Detectives said the victim was struck by the vehicle after crossing the roadway against the light.<\/p>\n

Police do not believe impairment was a factor in this collision.<\/p>\n

No further details were made available as this is an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n
