These Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP)<\/a> grants provide for necessary and routine maintenance items or fund small capital improvement projects at the Fort Worth airports. This grant requires a 10% match of eligible project costs for $100,000, for Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance,<\/a> Meacham International<\/a> and Spinks<\/a> airports.\u00a0<\/p>\n The aviation staff made a recommendation to the City Council<\/a> to authorize the acceptance of RAMP grants for Perot, Meacham and Spinks airports. The board\u2019s motion passed unanimously.<\/p>\n Ordinance to amend code<\/strong><\/p>\n The Advisory Board recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance to amend a specified section of the city code that regulates aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n The board recommended a revision to Fort Worth Code Ordinance, 3-122<\/a>. This section of the code regulates aircraft movement.\u00a0<\/p>\n The code currently reads:\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAircraft lights. All aircraft that are being taxied, towed, or otherwise moved at the airport shall have running lights on during the hours of darkness and periods of reduced visibility.\u201d<\/p>\n The board proposed that the current verbiage be changed to read:\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cEvery person operating a towing vehicle at night shall operate the equipment with the lights on and ensure that any towed aircraft is lighted (i.e., all aircraft position lights are on) or clearly illuminated (i.e., external lights are shining onto the aircraft to make it clearly illuminated).
