\n\tAs Superman<\/a> comes home to audiences, James Gunn<\/a> is sharing a glimpse at bringing a new Man of Steel to life.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe DC Studios<\/a> boss shared a behind-the-scenes video from a new featurette for the movie, which is now available on digital, showing his and star David Corenswet<\/a>\u2018s process for bringing one pivotal scene to the big screen. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis was one of my favorite moments on the set of #Superman and was freaked out (and so happy) to find out it had been filmed,\u201d he wrote on X<\/a>, sharing a clip of the moment.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis and many other moments were captured in \u2018Adventures in Making Superman\u2019, a 60-minute making-of feature showcasing intimate behind-the-scenes of the movie will be available starting today for consumers who purchase Superman digitally at home on participating platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Fandango at Home, and others,\u201d added Gunn.<\/p>\n

\n\tShowing Corenswet confronting Nicholas Hoult<\/a>\u2018s Lex Luthor, Gunn explained to the Superman actor behind-the-scenes, \u201cIt\u2019s the moment of you acknowledging your own weakness, your own hurt feelings, so that everyone that hears Superman knows that that\u2019s OK for all of us to feel that way. And it\u2019s not OK for the Lex Luthors of the world to be telling us we shouldn\u2019t feel this way, we shouldn\u2019t do that, we shouldn\u2019t think this. That is what makes you different from the other heroes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough the scene still didn\u2019t connect for Corenswet, it made sense when Gunn added, \u201cNone of it is right or wrong, all of it is being vulnerable, and being a human being. And in this moment, for you to talk about how it\u2019s OK to be vulnerable, you have to be vulnerable, which means showing Lex that your f***ing feelings are hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCorenswet said that statement \u201cperfectly clarified what the character was doing in that moment and what I should be doing in that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGunn noted the actor texted him later that day to tell him it was his \u201cfavorite day ever on set with a director,\u201d and the feeling was mutual.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter surpassing $331M<\/a> to become the United States\u2019 highest-grossing Man of Steel pic in the month since its release, Superman premiered on digital<\/a> Friday, giving fans a chance to catch up before the Aug. 22 return of Peacemaker<\/a> to HBO Max<\/a> for Season 2.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso coming soon to the digital version will be special features including a gag reel, deleted scenes and a director\u2019s commentary from Gunn, all of which will be automatically added for customers who have already purchased the movie on digital.<\/p>\n

\n\tPremiering Sept. 23 on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD, the physical release will also include the featurettes \u2018Adventures in Making Superman\u2019, \u2018Lex Luthor: The Mind of a Master Villain\u2019, \u2018Paws to Pixels: Krypto is Born\u2019, \u2018The Justice Gang\u2019, \u2018A New Era: DC Takes Off\u2019 and more.<\/p>\n
