That includes Best Bagel, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2024\/04\/12\/starship-bagel-open-far-north-dallas\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Starship<\/a> won in 2023 with its plain bagel. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Last year, Starship Bagel scored the award of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/2024\/10\/01\/dallas-shop-wins-best-bagel-schmear-in-the-country\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/2024\/10\/01\/dallas-shop-wins-best-bagel-schmear-in-the-country\/\">Best Schmear<\/a> at the same competition for its spread made with fresh basil and lemon. It also took second in the Best Beyond the Boroughs category and second for Best Bagel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">It\u2019s been a big year already for the bagel shop with locations in Dallas and Lewisville. Starship Bagel received a nomination <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/04\/02\/rj-yoakum-dallas-chefs-cafe-momentum-chad-houser-james-beard-latest-nominations\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/04\/02\/rj-yoakum-dallas-chefs-cafe-momentum-chad-houser-james-beard-latest-nominations\/\">for Outstanding Bakery<\/a> for the 2025 James Beard Awards and was featured on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/04\/11\/dallas-restaurants-featured-diners-driveins-dives-food-network-2025-guy-fieri\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/04\/11\/dallas-restaurants-featured-diners-driveins-dives-food-network-2025-guy-fieri\/\">Guy Fieri\u2019s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives<\/a> on the Food Network.<\/p>\n<p>Restaurant News<\/p>\n<p class=\"dmnc_features-cta-social-cta-social-module__zWZy- mb-4\">Get the scoop on the latest openings, closings, and where and what to eat and drink.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Starship Bagel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2023\/01\/20\/starship-bagel-now-open-in-downtown-dallas\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">opened by Oren Salomon<\/a>, has also found continued support in the community where it was founded about four years ago. The city of Lewisville declared Aug. 4 as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/07\/30\/starship-bagel-day-lewisville-texas-august-4\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/07\/30\/starship-bagel-day-lewisville-texas-august-4\/\">Starship Bagel Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">2025 New York BagelFest takes place Nov. 14 through Nov. 16, with the main event and awards on the final day.
