INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) \u2014 Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will not play in Sunday afternoon\u2019s road game against the Connecticut Sun. Clark has now missed 13 straight games due to a right groin injury.<\/p>\n
Fever head coach Stephanie White provided an update on Clark\u2019s injury earlier this week.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s been able to get a little bit more in her full court running with all of her body weight,\u201d White said. \u201cIt\u2019s really building up from doing minimal to then building some endurance to do longer periods of time. She\u2019s been able to do a little bit more on the court in terms of how she moves, but not into practice yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clark injured her right groin in the fourth quarter of the Fever\u2019s win against the Connecticut Sun on July 15.<\/p>\n
Sunday will be the 22nd regular season game that Clark will miss this season. She also missed the Fever\u2019s win in the Commissioner\u2019s Cup championship game, as well as the All-Star Game and Three-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n
Clark has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game in 13 games played this season.<\/p>\n
Clark has also dealt with a left quad injury and a left groin injury this season.<\/p>\n
The Fever are 8-5 with Clark this season and 10-11 without Clark in regular season games. The Fever also beat the Minnesota Lynx without Clark to win the Commissioner\u2019s Cup.<\/p>\n
The Fever (18-16) are 7th in the WNBA standings.<\/p>\n
