{"id":152224,"date":"2025-08-17T04:16:13","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T04:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/152224\/"},"modified":"2025-08-17T04:16:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T04:16:13","slug":"6-year-old-girl-detained-by-ice-along-with-mom-brother-in-nyc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/152224\/","title":{"rendered":"6-year-old girl detained by ICE along with mom, brother in NYC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three family members, including a 6-year-old girl, were detained by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents after what was supposed to be a routine immigration hearing in Lower Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Efforts are underway to try to get the family out of ICE custody.<\/p>\n<p>Mom and daughter sent to Texas detention center, son to N.J.<\/p>\n<p>Mariposa Benitez, a founder of the grassroots organization <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mitlallinyc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mi Tlalli<\/a>, says on Tuesday, ICE agents detained a woman named Martha, her daughter Dayra and her 19-year-old son Manuel at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/26-federal-plaza-nyc-ice-conditions-temporary-restraining-order-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">26 Federal Plaza<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They came together as a family escaping the violence that they have experienced in Ecuador,&#8221; Benitez said.<\/p>\n<p>Manuel just graduated from high school in June, and Dayra is believed to be the youngest student detained by ICE in New York City.
