SAN ANTONIO \u2014 It\u2019s been two years since anyone has seen or heard from Kassandra Gonzalez, but her family says they\u2019re not giving up hope.<\/p>\n
Gonzalez, who was 30 years old at the time of her disappearance, was last seen on Aug. 11, 2023. Her sister, Alyssa Ballard, says she was last spotted leaving her brother\u2019s apartment on Silver Sands Drive near Blanco Road with a friend. Since then, there have been no signs of her.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was the one to keep the family together,\u201d Ballard said. \u201cThat\u2019s something I miss about her. She always made everyone laugh, and she was so giving.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ballard says it wasn\u2019t until nearly a week later that the family realized something was wrong. A coworker from Cricket Wireless called to report that Gonzalez hadn\u2019t shown up to work for three days, something completely out of character.<\/p>\n
That prompted the family to report Gonzalez missing to the San Antonio Police Department. But after two years, investigators still have no answers about her whereabouts.<\/p>\n
Ballard says her sister had been having issues with an ex-boyfriend and had recently talked about filing a restraining order against him. Although Gonzalez had previously disappeared for short periods, Ballard says this time felt different, especially because Gonzalez is a mother of four.<\/p>\n

Ballard hopes someone in the community might come forward with information.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf she\u2019s out there, just let me know that she\u2019s OK,\u201d she said. \u201cBut if she\u2019s not, I just want closure\u2014to be able to put her to rest.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the time that\u2019s passed, Ballard says she refuses to give up on her sister.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was not just nobody. She was my sister. She meant something to me,\u201d Ballard said. \u201cSo I have to keep going and telling people that she\u2019s still missing.\u201d<\/p>\n
