Two people have escaped serious injury after a light aircraft crash landed on a golf course in Sydney’s northern beaches.<\/p>\n
The forced landing happened during a training flight just after 2pm on Saturday afternoon, with an instructor pilot and student on board.<\/p>\n
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has confirmed the aircraft was a Piper Cherokee.<\/p>\n

Aerial footage shows the plane on the course at Mona Vale Golf Club, with visible damage to a wing, and it appears the wheels have come off.<\/p>\n
NSW Ambulance said the pair aged in their 50s were treated onsite by paramedics for minor injuries, before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for further assessment.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the cause of the crash landing was unknown at this stage, but it may have been due to possible engine trouble.<\/p>\n
In a TikTok video a witness said the plane “just fell out of the sky”, while another adds: “It was crazy, we literally just heard this noise, and then all of a sudden it went bang.<\/p>\n
“And next thing you know these guys are still playing their golf game, pretending like a plane just hasn’t fallen from the sky.” \u00a0<\/p>\n

Information from Flight Tracker shows the aircraft took off from Shellharbour near Wollongong this afternoon and made a stop in Camden before continuing the flight north.<\/p>\n
