{"id":15335,"date":"2025-06-26T04:20:12","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T04:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/15335\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T04:20:12","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T04:20:12","slug":"what-carlos-alcaraz-and-juan-carlos-ferrero-were-spotted-doing-in-training-by-marion-bartoli-recently-in-rome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/15335\/","title":{"rendered":"What Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero were spotted doing in training by Marion Bartoli recently in Rome"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Carlos Alcaraz enjoyed a brilliant clay-court season, reaching the final of all four events he played.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bouncing back from a disappointing showing at the Miami Open, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/carlos-alcaraz-sends-message-to-lorenzo-musetti-after-beating-him-in-the-monte-carlo-masters-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcaraz won his maiden Monte-Carlo Masters title<\/a>, defeating Lorenzo Musetti in the final.<\/p>\n<p>Returning home for the Barcelona Open, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/holger-rune-explains-how-novak-djokovic-helped-him-beat-carlos-alcaraz-in-the-barcelona-open-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcaraz qualified for another final<\/a> but came up short against Denmark\u2019s Holger Rune as he struggled with an injury.<\/p>\n<p>Skipping the Madrid Open with that same injury, Alcaraz marked his return to action with a win at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/italian-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian Open<\/a>, beating his greatest rival, Jannik Sinner, in the final.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2215264274-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz celebrates with the Italian Open title after beating Jannik Sinner in the 2025 final\" class=\"wp-image-92482\" \/>Photo by Antonietta Baldassarre\/Insidefoto\/LightRocket via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard went on to win <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/french-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roland Garros<\/a> for the second year running, taking down Sinner in one of the greatest Grand Slam finals of all time.<\/p>\n<p>As Alcaraz carries that momentum forward to the grass, a former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a> champion has revealed what she saw the 22-year-old and his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, do in Rome last month.<\/p>\n<p>Marion Bartoli saw Juan Carlos Ferrero teach \u2018sceptical\u2019 Carlos Alcaraz a new serve technique in Rome<\/p>\n<p>Appearing on the BBC\u2019s Wimbledon preview, 2013 champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/marion-bartoli\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marion Bartoli<\/a> recalled what she saw Alcaraz and Ferrero practising in training at the Italian Open.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was actually in Rome when [Jannik] Sinner came back to the tour and I saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> every single evening just doing basket after basket of serves, just changing that motion,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to be honest, at the beginning he was kind of sceptical of what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/juan-carlos-ferrero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Juan Carlos Ferrero<\/a> was asking him to do, which was asking him to use the wrist a lot more.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2219028486-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"Juan Carlos Ferrero and Carlos Alcaraz training together at the 2025 French Open\" class=\"wp-image-105155\" \/>Photo by Clive Brunskill\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is about having a motion which is more smooth, that wrist action was sometimes a little bit lacking, which is why the serve was slightly too straight, so he couldn\u2019t get the curve or the slice wide serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Frenchwoman believes the hard work paid off, as evidenced by Alcaraz\u2019s serving performances at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/queens-club-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queen\u2019s Club Championships<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has been using [the slice wide serve] so much at Queen\u2019s.
