Hustle play:<\/strong> Late in the first quarter, Miami completed a short screen pass on 3rd & 12 at the Lions’ 37-yard line to wide receiver Dee Eskridge who followed a couple blocks and broke a tackle. He had a clear path to the end zone. Al-Quadin Muhammad came all the way from his edge position on the left side to make the tackle 27 yards downfield at the 10-yard line saving a touchdown. Those kind of effort plays stand out in the film room.<\/p>\n

Lynn’s performance:<\/strong> Second-year edge rusher Nate Lynn got injured in training camp last year and wasn’t able to fully show coaches what he could do. Now healthy, Lynn has had a terrific camp and preseason and is making a case to be part of Detroit’s edge depth behind starters Aidan Hutchinson<\/a> and Marcus Davenport. Lynn was leading Detroit with seven pressures through the first two preseason games and then added four tackles and a tackle for loss in Saturday’s loss to Miami.<\/p>\n
