We\u2019ve all been startled by things that go bump in the night. Once the initial shock wears off, it\u2019s pretty normal to scan the room in an attempt to see what happened. But one adorable cat takes it a bit further, almost as if he\u2019s been startled by a predator in something right out of a National Geographic documentary.<\/p>\n

In a hilarious TikTok clip, Astro the Siamese<\/strong> cat<\/a> looks like a\u00a0meerkat<\/a>\u00a0scanning the African plains for lions. Take a look and see how proud and inquisitive this kitty is.<\/p>\n

Why Do Meerkats Stand?<\/p>\n

Meerkats, of course, stand on their hind legs primarily\u00a0to get a better view of their surroundings<\/a>, helping them spot predators.\u00a0This “tripod stance,” using their tail for support, allows them to scan for danger from a higher vantage point, which is crucial for their survival. And for the record, meerkats are not part of the cat family. They are part of the mongoose tribe.<\/p>\n

Now, from what I\u2019ve seen on Astro\u2019s TikTok page\u00a0@kitterrss<\/a>, which he shares with his sibling Prada, the only real danger he faces is from Prada! Check out this adorable clip of the two of them playing together! It\u2019s so cute!<\/p>\n

I think what probably startled Astro was the remote control falling on the floor. This little sweetheart appears to spend a lot of time on the living room furniture watching his favorite TV show, Love Island. Maybe things got a little too hot and heavy, and the remote dropped as Astro and his pet parents gasped at a particularly shocking episode.<\/p>\n

Actually, he\u2019s probably just spying on his next-door neighbors! He looks so mysterious with those striking eyes!<\/p>\n

Regardless of why Astro stands on his hind legs, if I lived with him, I\u2019d be dancing with this little guy all day!<\/p>\n

In fact, Siamese cats are known for being social, agile, and intelligent<\/a>, so there\u2019s no question I\u2019d be able to teach this kitty to tango in no time!<\/p>\n

Siamese cats<\/a> are pretty vocal, so if Astro, for some reason, was not interested in participating in my dance party, I\u2019m sure he\u2019d let me know!<\/p>\n

Anyway, Astro\u2019s little meerkat trick is adorable, and we hope he spies something entertaining!<\/p>\n
