Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed Monday\u00a0, after the U.S.-Russia summit concluded without a ceasefire.<\/p>\n
Japan’s\u00a0Nikkei 225<\/a>\u00a0benchmark rose 0.62%, while the broader Topix index added 0.42%.<\/p>\n In South Korea, the\u00a0Kospi<\/a>\u00a0index fell 1.06%, while the small-cap Kosdaq was down 1.44%.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0S&P\/ASX 200<\/a>\u00a0started the day flat.<\/p>\n Futures for Hong Kong’s\u00a0Hang Seng index<\/a> stood at 25,214, pointing to a stronger open compared with the HSI’s last close of 25,270.07.<\/p>\n U.S. equity futures<\/a> ticked up in early Asia hours on hopes for rate cuts by the U.S. Federal Reserve, which fueled a winning week on Wall Street.<\/p>\n The\u00a0S&P 500<\/a>\u00a0slipped on Friday after hitting a record high, as investors took some gains off the table after a strong week.<\/p>\n The broad market index settled down 0.29% at 6,449.80.
