The man, in his 40s, developed \u201cyellowish nodules on his palms, soles, and elbows\u201d after eight months of his new eating plan, which consisted of foods high in fat, including daily hamburgers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The diet<\/a> claims to heal any number of health problems, from hormonal imbalances to chronic digestive issues, despite medical evidence showing that consuming high levels of red meat raises the risk of heart disease and cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/health\/cortisol-cocktail-stress-tiktok\/?ipid=promo-link-block1\" class=\"promo-link__link\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\tCan TikTok\u2019s viral \u2018cortisol cocktail\u2019 reduce your stress?\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What is the carnivore diet?<\/p>\n<p>The carnivore diet does not follow the basic food pyramid but instead heavily relies on red meat consumption and avoids carbohydrates.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/the-carnivore-diet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, the diet\u2019s suggested ingredient list includes beef, pork, poultry and other barnyard meats; fish and seafood; wild game like venison; eggs; limited full-fat dairy-based products like cheese and butter; and water.<\/p>\n<p>What are the benefits of the carnivore diet?<\/p>\n<p>Scientific research is limited, whereas influencers promoting the benefits are more widespread.<\/p>\n<p>Weight loss, blood sugar management, chronic disease control and better mental health are some of the positive outcomes people have cited. However, experts have warned these potential benefits may not be long-lasting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s true that this diet can show results \u2014 initially. But in the long term, it\u2019s a very challenging diet to follow.
