{"id":156400,"date":"2025-08-18T18:41:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T18:41:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/156400\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T18:41:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T18:41:09","slug":"pbr-announces-2026-world-finals-will-be-in-2-fort-worth-locations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/156400\/","title":{"rendered":"PBR announces 2026 World Finals will be in 2 Fort Worth locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professional Bull Riders<\/a>, based in Fort Worth, announced the <a href=\"http:\/\/\u00a0www.pbrworldfinals.com\u00a0\" target=\"_blank\">PBR Unleash the Beast World Finals<\/a> will return to Dickies Arena in 2026.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dickiesarena.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dickies Arena<\/a> previously held the finals in 2022 and 2023 after the event moved from Las Vegas. The past two years, AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington has served as the host of the World Finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In a nutshell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The move from Arlington back to Fort Worth was necessary as <a href=\"https:\/\/attstadium.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AT&amp;T Stadium<\/a> will be <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/grapevine-colleyville-southlake\/events\/2025\/08\/11\/2026-fifa-world-cup-updates-flights-additions-ticket-sales-volunteer-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hosting<\/a> FIFA World Cup games, according to a PBR press release.<\/p>\n<p>The event will start at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cowtowncoliseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cowtown Coliseum<\/a> for the early round, from May 7-10, 2026, before Dickies Arena will host the final, May 14-17, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to keep the toughest championship in sports right here in Texas, starting the journey at historic Cowtown Coliseum and culminating with crowning our new World Champion at Dickies Arena, also home to the Fort Worth Rattlers of PBR Teams,\u201d said Sean Gleason, CEO and commissioner of PBR, which is headquartered at the Fort Worth Stockyards.<\/p>\n<p>PBR World Finals debuted at Cowtown Coliseum, which hosted the organization\u2019s first event in 1993, in 2024. The 2,400-seat arena was constructed in 1908 and held the world\u2019s first indoor rodeo in 1918, according to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cowtowncoliseum.com\/venue-info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Tarrant County Commissioners Court approved <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/keller-roanoke-northeast-fort-worth\/sports\/2022\/07\/11\/tarrant-county-oks-15m-to-help-with-costs-for-professional-bull-riders-world-finals-in-fort-worth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$1.5 million in funding<\/a> in 2022, to help facilitate the move and host the finals in the county from 2022-24 according to previous reporting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What else?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The move back to Fort Worth helps fill a void at Dickies Arena, which will no longer host the <a href=\"https:\/\/theamerican.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Athletic Conference<\/a> men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball tournaments. The league based in Irving announced the 2026 basketball championships will be held in Birmingham, Alabama and then move to Tampa, Florida, in 2027 and 2028.
