Earlier this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5ny.com\/news\/1-person-drowned-6-saved-rescue-jet-ski-unguarded-nj-beach-seaside-heights-officials-confirm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">one person died and six were rescued<\/a> from rip currents in Seaside Heights. In nearby Berkeley Township this weekend, <a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-jersey\/berkeley-nj\/2-swimmers-caught-rip-current-after-hours-jersey-shore-police-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">two swimmers were rescued<\/a> after getting caught in rip currents. Also on Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5ny.com\/news\/13-year-old-drowns-belmar-after-being-pulled-from-water-new-jersey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a 13-year-old girl drowned in Belmar<\/a>, New Jersey, though the cause of death remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/al05_stats-1.gif\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-0dea8073=\"\">Tracking Hurricane Erin in the Atlantic. (FOX Weather) <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Timeline:<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">Here&#8217;s a look at what to expect this week.<\/p>\n<p> Monday <\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=PHI&amp;wwa=beach%20hazards%20statement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">beach hazards statement<\/a> is in effect along the Jersey coast, with waves 3 to 5 feet high, rough surf conditions and the risk of rip current. Monmouth County is under <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=PHI&amp;wwa=rip%20current%20statement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a rip current statement<\/a> through Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">&#8220;Life-threatening rip currents are likely for all people entering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the beaches should stay out of the surf,&#8221; the National Weather Service advises.<\/p>\n<p> Tuesday <\/p>\n<p data-v-7f0a623e=\"\">The National Weather Service issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=OKX&amp;wwa=rip%20current%20statement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">high rip current risk statement<\/a>, which goes into effect Tuesday evening for Long Island and New York City.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/coastal-hazards-tracker-1.png\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-0dea8073=\"\">Coastal hazards expected through this week.
