{"id":156884,"date":"2025-08-18T22:58:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T22:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/156884\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T22:58:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T22:58:08","slug":"seattle-storm-bring-back-player-they-just-dealt-in-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/156884\/","title":{"rendered":"Seattle Storm bring back player they just dealt in trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not even two weeks after the Seattle Storm included Zia Cooke in <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.mynorthwest.com\/wnba\/seattle-storm\/seattle-storm-make-big-trade-for-all-star-brittney-sykes\/1818436\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a trade with the Washington Mystics<\/a>, the third-year guard is back.<\/p>\n<p>Cooke and the Storm have agreed on a contract for the rest of the 2025 season, the Storm announced Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sports.mynorthwest.com\/wnba\/seattle-storm\/seattle-storm-unveil-sue-bird-statue-climate-pledge-arena\/1819461\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Seattle Storm unveil Sue Bird statue outside Climate Pledge Arena<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Storm sent Cooke along with veteran forward Alysha Clark and a 2026 first-round WNBA Draft pick to the Mystics on Aug. 5 for All-Star guard Brittney Sykes.<\/p>\n<p>Cooke was picked No. 10 overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks after a college career at South Carolina that included a national championship. She was a role player in two seasons with the Sparks, then signed with the Storm as a free agent in February after being waived by Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>In 24 games with Seattle this year, Cooke is averaging 3.3 points and 0.5 assists per game. Seattle is eighth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnba.com\/standings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the WNBA standings<\/a> with nine games left in the regular season.
