{"id":157317,"date":"2025-08-19T02:51:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T02:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/157317\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T02:51:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T02:51:14","slug":"barcelona-official-confirms-dispute-with-la-liga-over-vip-seats-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/157317\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona official confirms dispute with La Liga over VIP seats operation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Barcelona have faced a real uphill battle in returning to the financial 1:1 rule, and La Liga\u2019s strict financial audits and clauses have only further complicated matters and distanced them from the same.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of <a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/barcelona-plan-to-activate-the-vip-seat-lever-at-estadi-johan-cruyff-in-bid-to-return-to-11-rule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VIP seats<\/a> in the new Spotify Camp Nou and the sale of their rights was long expected to be the level that helps Barcelona account for the financial deficit and return to the 1:1 rule.<\/p>\n<p>La Liga, however, refused to accept the projected wages first because the seats were not yet constructed and \u2018did not exist\u2019. Now that the section in the stadium is ready, they are refusing on other grounds.<\/p>\n<p>A fight with La Liga<\/p>\n<p>As relayed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sport.es\/es\/noticias\/barca\/barca-confirma-pelea-laliga-asientos-120728498\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SPORT<\/a>, La Liga are refusing to accept the calculation of income from the VIP seats on the audit, claiming that Barcelona have not yet made that income.<\/p>\n<p>The club, meanwhile, argue that it is a \u2018projected income\u2019 that will certainly be reached now that the seats are constructed and a party is in place to purchase the rights.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in a press conference earlier today, the club\u2019s director of sections, Xavi O\u2019Callaghan, reiterated the same and confirmed the situation to the media.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cFair play depends on projected revenue. (Photo by Eric Alonso\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAnd the interpretation of VIP seat income, for example, is one thing for Bar\u00e7a and another for La Liga.
