On Sunday, August 17, the rock veterans dropped a TikTok<\/a> that felt like a blast from the past. A text overlay read, \u201cPOV: It\u2019s 1969 in Alabama. After 3 intense days in the studio, you hear \u2018Wild Horses\u2019 played back for the very first time\u2026\u201d set against footage that looked like archival film. The caption doubled down on the nostalgia: \u201cFirst played back in \u201969 at Muscle Shoals \ud83c\udfb6 Still breaking hearts in 2025\u2026Wild Horses run forever \ud83d\udc0e\u2728.\u201d<\/p>\n

The timing couldn\u2019t have been better. Nearly two weeks earlier, The Summer I Turned Pretty\u2019s long-awaited \u201cpeach scene\u201d finally hit screens. In Season 3, Episode 5 of the coming-of-age romantic drama \u2014 based on Jenny Han\u2019s bestselling trilogy \u2014 Belly (played by Lola Tung) takes a slow, juice-dripping bite of a peach as ex-love Conrad (Christopher Briney) watches, transfixed. With \u201cWild Horses\u201d swelling in the background, he steps forward to wipe her chin, and the moment instantly joined the ranks of iconic teen-TV history.<\/p>\n

It didn’t take long for X (formerly Twitter) to light up with reactions.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my goddd the peach scene! so intimate, the sun in the back, the field, the close ups and the wild horses couldn’t drag me away,\u201d one user wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHE PEACH SCENE WAS BETTER THAN I WAS EXPECTING OH MY GOD THIS IS CINEMA,\u201d another declared.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can’t get over wild horses playing during the peach scene im crying I can’t,\u201d a third chimed in.<\/p>\n

Han \u2014 who not only penned the bestselling novels but also serves as the series\u2019 creator, co-showrunner and director of the peach episode \u2014 leaned into the chaos, sharing a cheeky behind-the-scenes snap of Tung holding a peach. \u201cTeam Conrad you up??\u201d she captioned the Instagram post<\/a> on August 6.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old actress told reporters<\/a> she loves the passionate fan debate around the Belly\u2013Jeremiah\u2013Conrad triangle. \u201cIt\u2019s great\u2014it\u2019s what you\u2019re supposed to feel,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cI think there should be a back and forth sort of pull.\u201d<\/p>\n

And while the peach scene may be the latest cultural reset, it\u2019s not the first time \u201cWild Horses\u201d has stolen a moment on screen. The Sundays\u2019 cover turned up in Fear (1996) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1999), while the Stones\u2019 version has played in Parks and Recreation, BoJack Horseman, and Billions.<\/p>\n
