Here&#8217;s the weather forecast."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All eyes will be on major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/hurricane-erin-track-path\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Hurricane Erin<\/a> this week as the storm begins its northerly track toward the eastern seaboard.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While the heart of the storm will likely stay well offshore (fortunately), we will have several impacts in the Philadelphia region, especially along the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/hurricane-erin-jersey-shore-rip-currents\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jersey Shore and Delaware beaches<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How will Hurricane Erin affect the Philadelphia region?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how Hurricane Erin could affect the Jersey Shore and Delaware beaches:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High rip current risk will continue through at least Friday<\/li>\n<li>Long period swells will generate rough surf and large breaking waves<\/li>\n<li>Eight to 12-foot seas on Wednesday could build as high as 10-15 feet on Thursday<\/li>\n<li>Dangerous swimming and boating conditions all week<\/li>\n<li>Beach erosion and coastal flooding are likely \u2014 there&#8217;s already a coastal flood advisory for the Jersey Shore and Delaware<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, the wind gusts will likely peak on Thursday with gusts as high as 50 mph from the east, adding in the potential for beach erosion and flooding.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755589150_182_z-forecast-conditions-shore.png#.png\" alt=\"z-forecast-conditions-shore.png \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                CBS News Philadelphia<\/p>\n<p>Away from the coast, impacts from Erin will be limited.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The bigger story will be the cool and cloudy pattern that we&#8217;ll be stuck in through at least the first half of the week \u2014 highs only in the 70s with limited sun and the chance for spotty showers. A cool breeze will make it feel more like fall than August.
