The Cambridge Dictionary has added over 6,000 new words including slang terms like “skibidi,” “tradwife” and “delulu.”<\/p>\n

\u201cSkibidi\u201d is one of the slang terms popularized by social media that are among more than 6,000 additions this year to the Cambridge Dictionary. <\/p>\n
\u201cInternet culture is changing the English language and the effect is fascinating to observe and capture in the dictionary,\u201d said Colin McIntosh, lexical program manager at Cambridge Dictionary, the world\u2019s largest online dictionary.<\/p>\n
\u201cSkibidi\u201d is a gibberish term coined by the creator of an animated YouTube series and can mean \u201ccool\u201d or \u201cbad\u201d or be used with no real meaning as a joke. <\/p>\n
Other planned additions including \u201ctradwife,” a contraction of \u201ctraditional wife\u201d referring to a married mother who cooks, cleans and posts on social media, and “delulu,\u201d a shortening of the word delusional that means \u201cbelieving things that are not real or true, usually because you choose to.\u201d<\/p>\n
An increase in remote working since the pandemic has created the new dictionary entry \u201cmouse jiggler,\u201d a device or piece of software used to make it seem like you are working when you are not.<\/p>\n
