Many of billionaire pop star Taylor Swift\u2019s albums surged dozens of spots on the latest Billboard 200 albums chart released Tuesday, days after she announced her upcoming 12th studio album, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl.\u201d <\/p>\n

Swift charts nine albums on this week\u2019s Billboard 200<\/a>, led by her latest release \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department,\u201d which returned to the top 20 at No. 18 after Swift appeared on her boyfriend Travis Kelce\u2019s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast last week to unveil her forthcoming album.<\/p>\n \u201c1989\u201d and \u201cRed (Taylor\u2019s Version)\u201d made the biggest jumps this week, with the former leaping 82 spots to No. 98, re-entering the top 100, and the latter surging from No. 179 to No. 111.<\/p>\n Two Swift albums returned to the top 40 this week: \u201creputation,\u201d which rose from No. 62 to No. 32, and \u201cLover,\u201d which jumped from No. 51 to No. 38.<\/p>\n Swift\u2019s 2020 album \u201cevermore\u201d re-entered the chart at No. 193, its first appearance after dropping off<\/a> the Billboard 200 four months ago.<\/p>\n The only Swift album to decline in popularity on the Billboard 200 this week is \u201cfolklore,\u201d which dipped five spots, though it holds as her second most-popular album of the week at No. 29.<\/p>\n Tangent<\/p>\n Swift also surged in popularity on Spotify after her album announcement. She rose to No. 1 on Spotify\u2019s<\/a> daily artist chart last week on the day she made the announcement and has led that chart every day since, dethroning Morgan Wallen and Drake, the only two artists who had ranked above her. <\/p>\n What To Watch For<\/p>\n Whether Swift\u2019s new album can top the record-shattering sales debut of \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department,\u201d which sold<\/a> a career-best 2.61 album equivalent units, composed of sales and streams, in its first week. Swift on Monday unveiled a limited edition vinyl version of \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d which reportedly sold out<\/a> in less than an hour.<\/p>\n What Do We Know About Taylor Swift\u2019s New Album?<\/p>\n Swift has so far released artwork, the tracklist and the names of several collaborators for \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d her new album due out on Oct. 3. The twelve-song tracklist includes titles like \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia,\u201d \u201cRuin the Friendship\u201d and \u201cActually Romantic,\u201d and Sabrina Carpenter is featured on the album\u2019s title track. Swift said she collaborated with producers Max Martin and Shellback, prolific pop hitmakers who previously worked on \u201c1989\u201d and \u201creputation,\u201d for this album. On his podcast, Kelce<\/a> said the album is \u201ca lot more upbeat\u201d and \u201dfun pop excitement,\u201d calling it a \u201ccomplete 180 from a lot of the songs on \u2018Tortured Poets\u2019 for sure,\u201d referring to her previous album, which included more slow ballads. Swift, on the podcast<\/a>, described the songs as \u201cbangers\u201d and said there are no additional songs coming, a departure from \u201cTortured Poets,\u201d when she surprised fans by releasing a companion album with 15 previously unannounced songs hours after the album\u2019s release.
