I want to help anyone in danger and be of service to New Yorkers.”

Born in New York to Caribbean parents, his father from Guyana and his mother from Trinidad and Tobago, Clement said his family’s sacrifices motivated him. “We were a single-income household. My dad worked very hard to ensure we were taken care of, he said. “I want to honor that by being passionate about this job.”

He recently completed rigorous academy training, describing it as real-world preparation. “The instructors put you through obstacles to prepare for anything: a robbery, domestic violence, or family disputes. You never know what’s coming,” he said.

Deputy Inspector Ralph Clement places his son Daniel’s badge, a symbolic passing of the torch in a multi-generational law enforcement family.Photo courtesy of the NYPD

Ambitious about his career, Clement humorously shared a personal goal: surpassing his father’s rank. “Right now he’s a deputy inspector, but my brother and I joked about outranking him before he retires,” he said.

To young New Yorkers considering a career in law enforcement, Clement offered encouragement. “I was skeptical at first, but once I settled in and made friends, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything,” he said. He added that the department continues to seek recruits. “The NYPD needs people, and standards are maintained to ensure the best service.”

A supervising lieutenant praised Clement’s drive, saying, “He’s ambitious and focused. With determination, he’ll progress quickly through promotions.”

The young officer said his focus remains on serving the community. “I want to be the officer who answers when people are in need,” he said, underscoring the commitment to a legacy of public service and family dedication.

A moment of pride and unity as Daniel Clement shares a celebratory embrace with his father and older brother, both fellow NYPD officers, after completing rigorous academy training.Photo courtesy of the NYPD

Daniel Clement (center) stands proudly in his NYPD uniform, flanked by his family, marking a milestone in the…

[5122
5229,92291,92292,405,403,5226,5225,5228,5227,5257,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-159007","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-daniel-corman","10":"tag-family-legacy","11":"tag-new-york","12":"tag-new-york-city","13":"tag-newyork","14":"tag-newyorkcity","15":"tag-ny","16":"tag-nyc","17":"tag-nypd","18":"tag-united-states","19":"tag-united-states-of-america","20":"tag-unitedstates","21":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","22":"tag-us","23":"tag-usa
["GET
