If you live in Montana and head to the Wallet app on your iPhone, you\u2019ll now have the option to add your ID for easy mobile access. <\/p>\n<p>Apple Wallet support for IDs<\/p>\n<p>Apple says that ID cards in Wallet can currently be used at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsa.gov\/travel\/digital-id\/map\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">select TSA checkpoints<\/a>\u00a0within a number of airports around the United States. Digital IDs can also be used at \u201cselect businesses and venues,\u201d but your mileage may vary from one business to another.<\/p>\n<p>Like in other states, Montana <a href=\"https:\/\/mvdmt.gov\/mobile-id\/id-in-apple-wallet\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">says<\/a> that you must continue to carry your physical ID as well.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/digital-id-drivers-license-iphone-states-airports\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">detailed in our full roundup<\/a>, here are the states that support IDs in Apple Wallet:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arizona<\/li>\n<li>California<\/li>\n<li>Colorado<\/li>\n<li>Georgia<\/li>\n<li>Hawaii<\/li>\n<li>Iowa<\/li>\n<li>Maryland<\/li>\n<li>Montana<\/li>\n<li>New Mexico<\/li>\n<li>Ohio<\/li>\n<li>Puerto Rico<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The rollout of IDs in Apple Wallet <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/digital-id-drivers-license-iphone-states-airports\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has been slow<\/a>, but Apple says more states are coming soon. Apple has promised that Connecticut, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Utah are also committed to support the feature. We are also <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/04\/29\/apple-wallet-could-add-digital-ids-in-these-three-states-next\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expecting<\/a> Arkansas and West Virginia to soon add support for the feature.<\/p>\n<p>Apple Wallet in iOS 26<\/p>\n<p>The Apple Wallet app is <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/08\/07\/heres-everything-new-for-apple-wallet-in-ios-26\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">getting even better with iOS 26<\/a>, set to be released to everyone next fall. Most notably, Apple is upgrading the boarding pass capabilities with support for in-depth Live Activities, airport maps, and integration with luggage tracking through AirTags and the Find My app.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to digital IDs, iOS 26 will allow users in the United States to store their passport in the Wallet app for the first time.
