Collin Morikawa isn\u2019t happy with one lontime golf reporter.<\/p>\n

The two-time major champion went off on Golfweek\u2019s Adam Schupak during a press conference Wednesday, apparently taking exception to a quote in an article written about the golfer\u2019s most recent caddie change<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAsk me anything you want in my press conference later, I\u2019m with my pro-am partners now,\u201d Morikawa was quoted saying in Schupak\u2019s report, which has since been updated to include the golfer\u2019s most recent comments, according to Awful Announcing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Morikawa confirmed Wednesday he\u2019s moving on from caddie Joe Greiner after just five tournaments<\/a> together, replacing him with former California teammate KK Limbhasut for this week\u2019s Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club.<\/p>\n

He had a testy, long-winded response when Schupak finally got the chance to ask about the abrupt switch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t,\u201d Morikawa said when asked if he knew who would be his caddie at the British Open in July. \u201cAnd I read your article that you wrote. Look, I\u2019m not here to tell people how to do their jobs, but I don\u2019t get why you would make me sound bad because you put out my quote that I was playing with pro-am partners out front.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThose guys are paying a lot of money, they\u2019re very important to the community, they\u2019re very important to the Rocket Classic, and for you to put out a quote like that to put me down and saying, \u2018Hey, wait two-and-a-half hours,\u2019\u201d Morikawa continued. \u201cI mean, you called me up on the first tee, you know? I\u2019m not going to tell you how to do your job. You can write whatever you want. This is America. But don\u2019t put me down like that because it\u2019s two and a half hours, Adam.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schupak responded: \u201cI thought I was actually giving you credit that you were playing, you were focused on your pro-am partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay, we can all read it very differently. That\u2019s not how I read it,\u201d Morikawa replied. \u201cBut I\u2019m just telling you, I think there\u2019s a perspective where people can read it like that. So, I\u2019m just going to leave it at that. We knew I was going to have media in two-and-a-half hours. I\u2019m on the first tee meeting my pro-am partners as they\u2019re teeing off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morikawa\u2019s media spat comes as he\u2019s struggled by his high standards on the course.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In five tournaments with Greiner on the bag, Morikawa never finished higher than T-17.\u00a0<\/p>\n
