Texas native Cody Johnson will perform a full-length show on March 22, the final day of the 2026 Houston rodeo.<\/p>\n
HOUSTON \u2014 The 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo\u00a0<\/a>is months away, but tickets for the final concert go on sale on Thursday, August 21.\u00a0<\/p>\n Cody Johnson<\/a> will close out the rodeo with a full-length show on Sunday, March 22. The Texas native and multi-platinum artist will be only the second entertainer to have a concert-only event at RodeoHouston. He’s following in the footsteps of fellow Texan George Strait, who did the last concert-only show in 2022.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery performance at RodeoHouston is a privilege, and as a Rodeo man at heart, being asked to perform on a special night like this surpasses any of my wildest dreams,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n Johnson’s last RodeoHouston appearance in 2023 drew more than 73,000 fans. Before that, he played in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022. He also surprised fans with a special appearance during Jelly Roll’s 2024 performance.<\/a><\/p>\n The 38-year-old has won a bunch of awards, including the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards Song of the Year for \u201cDirt Cheap\u201d, CMT Artist of the Year, three CMT Music Awards wins, four CMA Awards including Album of The Year in 2024, and \u201cBest New Country Artist\u201d at the iHeart Music Awards in 2023.<\/p>\n
