(WSMV) &#8211; A search continues for a man who went missing Sunday in Houston County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jerison Hankins\u2019 family has been combing the wooded area behind his home on Mobley Lane for the past two days, hoping to bring him safely home. As each hour passes, their fears continue to grow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThere are not really words to describe how we feel other than just heartbreak,\u201d said Holly Pollard, who is Hankins\u2019 sister.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pollard says her 20-year-old brother was last seen outside of his home early Sunday morning. She says Jerison has bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. The family became concerned about his mental condition after seeing a series of bizarre posts on Facebook. The family contacted the Houston County Sheriff\u2019s office for a welfare check.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI don\u2019t feel like there was a sense of urgency in the matter,\u201d Pollard says after a sheriff\u2019s deputy checked on Jerison, whose condition escalated.<\/p>\n<p>A search continues for a man who went missing Sunday in Houston County.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"WSMV - template image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PYQCNXWUIVE27BALA565ZY2LFQ.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsmv.com\/page\/our-apps\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wsmv.com\/page\/our-apps\/\"><b>Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cApparently, Jerison was in a manic state. He had come out into the road and was pointing a gun at cars that were driving by. As soon as he saw the blue flashing light, he panicked, dropped his gun and phone.\u201d Pollard said. \u201cThat\u2019s when Jerison ran into the woods behind his home. He hasn\u2019t been seen since.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">During the search, authorities found Hankins\u2019 clothes near a pond, but nothing else. In the meantime, the family says they will continue to search every area they can get access to, praying that Hankins finds his way home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHe\u2019s truly a wonderful person. He is just, at the moment, not himself,\u201d said Pollard. \u201cWe love you so much. We are not mad at you. We just want you home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The family is asking for others in the area to check their trail cameras and Ring cameras to help in the search for Jerison Hankins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">If you see him, call the Houston County Sheriff\u2019s Office at 931-289-4614 or 911.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WSMV.
