Sue Harrison’s book, “Rescuing Crash: The Good Dog” will be a topic of discussion when she visits the Alpena County Library on Saturday, Sept. 13.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

ALPENA \u2014 Upper Peninsula author Sue Harrison will be sharing her children\u2019s book, \u201cRescuing Crash: The Good Dog,\u201d at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Alpena County Library. Geared towards ages 9-12, \u201cRescuing Crash\u201d is the story of 11-year-old Britta, her father, and Crash, an Australian Shepherd adopted from the local animal shelter. Harrison explores the sadness and confusion of a child abandoned by a parent, the unique bonds between fathers and daughters, and the healing connections to be found in adopting a rescue animal. <\/p>\n

Books will be available for purchase. <\/p>\n

Harrison is the author of seven critically acclaimed, bestselling novels, including the \u201cIvory Carver Trilogy,\u201d the \u201cStoryteller Trilogy,\u201d and her first middle-grade novel, \u201cSISU.\u201d Her most recent novel is \u201cThe Midwife\u2019s Touch,\u201d published in 2023, and was named a 2024 Upper Peninsula Notable Book. Harrison lives in Pickford, Michigan, with her husband, a retired high school principal, and their mini-schnauzer, Tiffany.<\/p>\n

The Alpena County Library is located at 211 N. 1st Ave., Alpena.<\/p>\n
